Radiology (X-rays)

X-rays are a valuable tool in the medical process as they can help us to identify the root cause of illnesses, rule out concerns, and list possible causes. Some pets may never need an X-ray in their lives, while others may need them frequently to monitor an ongoing health condition.

We can see more than just bones on X-rays! This technology enables our veterinarians to also assess the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, colon), respiratory tract (lungs), heart, and genitourinary system (bladder, prostate). Radiology can be used alone or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools and requires great skill on the veterinarian’s part to interpret and draw conclusions.

At The Animal Clinic, we offer state-of-the-art digital radiology, meaning that all X-rays are captured digitally rather than on film! This is better for our patients as it uses less radiation than traditional X-rays and allows us to deliver results more quickly.

If you have any questions about our radiology procedures, please feel free to consult our Pet Health Library!
